Kazakhstan IT-startups are recognized as the best in Central Asia

Central Asian Tech Awards 2023 was held in Bishkek, where the names of the winners were announced. Three out of the seven nominations were given to Kazakhstan startups. They got the main prize - a trip to Silicon Valley.


There were 114 applications in total for the Central Asian Tech Awards, 39 of them from Kazakhstan - this event was held on the basis of the Central Asian Technological Forum. It is important to note, that all Kazakhstan startups which won are members of the Astana Hub. 

Networks Energy became the “breakthrough of the year in Central Asia” for the development of the IT platform for the registration of rail transportation and automatization of the business processes of the railway industry, which significantly influenced the technological sector of the whole industry. Now thanks to this company Kazakhstan has a unique product that allows it to automate processes of railway transportation without licenses and solutions of technological giants IBM or SAP.

Receipting this award marks the importance of the continuation of efforts of Networks Energy for the transformation of Kazakhstan into a regional transportation and digital hub. Our team will continue to follow its mission and to develop and implement advanced technologies in the logistics industry of the region”, - said Bakhyt Yerzhanov, CEO of Networks Energy. 

In the category “IT mentor of the year in Central Asia” best was awarded to Kazakhstan developer, innovator, and teacher Rustem Yermekov. He made it to the Forbes list of 30 under 30 in 2021 and also received a grant from fund Sabi for his development of the QBIT - Kazakhstan set for robotics. 

“I have worked in the education sphere for 6 years. I believe in the idea that all problems of the world can be solved if people will receive the right education and will develop creative thinking. Now we are developing different educational decisions. One of our main products - qbit, is set for teaching kids STEM engineering, robotics, and programming. Also soon there will be released our mini digital lab micro: lab”, - shared with Rustem Yermekov.

Red_mad_robot central Asia, which also represented Kazakhstan, won in nomination for “Fastest growing IT company - Export - outsourcing of ICT services abroad”. The company develops digital platforms of financial and non-financial services for universal banks with business directions for small and medium-sized businesses. 

The jury of the Central Asian Tech Awards 2023 consisted of leaders of the Park of the high technologies of Kyrgyzstan, Astana Hub, IT Park Uzbekistan, and other experts in the Central Asian IT industry. 

To recall, the Central Asian Technological Forum, under which held the Central Asian Tech Awards, was held in Kyrgyzstan and united on its platform more than 50 IT startups and 600 members from Central Asia, Japan, Germany, South Korea, and the USA.

This forum was organized by KSSDA and HTP Kyrgyzstan, Astana Hub, and IT-park Uzbekistan in alliance with the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, EBRD, and the Apparatus of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. You can find more information about the Asian Technological Forum on the platform.
