The National Commission on Women Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in partnership with the international technopark Astana Hub and the non-profit organization Techno Women, announces the launch of the Tech Girls program for girls aged 16 to 23. Applications for participation can be submitted from February 7 to March 1 via the link.
The Tech Girls program was designed for two months. It offers free education to more than 3000 girls from all regions of the country in the No Code, Low Code, and Beta Career. The educational process will include webinars, workshops, live streams, as well as sessions with experts and mentors from Techno Women and Astana Hub. As part of the training, participants will have the opportunity to create their own Tech products and do internships in leading Tech Companies.
"The participants of the program will acquire unique skills that enable them to create tech products quickly and efficiently. For example, the No Code School will teach the basics of creating landing pages, websites, mobile applications, chatbots, and marketplaces, providing access to current tools without the need for manual coding. The Low-Code approach is suitable for those who want to develop applications with minimal programming skills, and the Beta Career course will provide the necessary knowledge and skills for successful interviews at prestigious IT companies, from experienced professionals in career counseling and professional orientation,"- Daniya Akhmetova, Managing Director of Astana Hub told.
"Tech Girls is an opportunity for young women to unleash their potential in the field of information technology. Our goal is to support the younger generation by providing them with the skills needed for a successful career in IT. This is not only an investment in talent development but also in the future of Kazakhstan's digital economy," Alina Abdrakhmanova, a member of the National Commission on Women Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan told.
The importance of such programs is confirmed by the successful experience of the IT-Aiel program in 2023. More than 2000 unemployed women from 17 regions of Kazakhstan were trained in IT professions.
"The mission of the organization TechnoWomen is to open up new opportunities for girls and women in the digital world. And our goal is quite specific: we want to increase the number of women in the technology industries to 45%. That is why our organization will provide mentoring support to the Tech Girls program and will accompany girls in career guidance, as well as in improving their digital competencies," Aziza Shuzheeva, Chair of the Board of the NGO TechnoWomen noted.
