Kazakhstan has launched the Digital Nomad Residency program, unlocking new opportunities for foreign IT specialists.
Kazakhstan has completed a pilot training program for digital technology educators as part of a dedicated track within the Tech Orda initiative. A total of 290 participants—including 167 schoolteachers and 123 trainers from the National Center for Professional Development “Orleu”—have now incorporated artificial intelligence and game development tools into their educational practices.
Ahead of International Women’s Day, Astana Hub highlights the dynamic growth of women-led tech companies within the tech park. While there were 179 such companies in early 2023 and around 250 in 2024, the number has now reached 301 in 2025.
Astana Hub has launched the application process for the preliminary round of the AlgoBatyr competitive programming championship, offering a new challenge for programmers and developers. The competition will take place online on March 17 at 20:00 (Astana time), allowing participants to join from anywhere in the world.
Astana Hub has announced the application launch for the fourth batch of Tomorrow School, Kazakhstan’s first peer-to-peer artificial intelligence school. The program is open to all applicants aged 18 and older. Over the past three batch, 503 individuals successfully passed the selection process, with 77 advancing to the core training phase.
Kazakhstan's startup Game of Drones is introducing a groundbreaking esports online game that allows users to remotely control real drones over the internet from anywhere in the world. After a beta test involving 10,000 players from 23 countries, the project is now entering a new phase with its official launch on Android.
Astana Hub in collaboration with Women in Tech Kazakhstan chapter, hosted an online facilitation session dedicated to identifying and addressing the challenges faced by women founders in Kazakhstan’s startup ecosystem.
As part of the City of Skilled Trades festival, Astana Hub hosted a panel discussion titled “Next-Generation IT Education”, where experts explored the transformation of educational methodologies in response to rapid technological advancements and the growing demand for practically skilled professionals.
The international StartupBlink ranking, which evaluates startup ecosystems worldwide, has once again confirmed Kazakhstan’s leadership in Central Asia. The country secured the top position in the region and strengthened its global standing, ranking among the top 75 startup ecosystems in the world.
At an extended Government meeting, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov reported to the Head of State on the results of support measures for domestic manufacturers, the IT sector, social initiatives, and scientific advancements.
The informal side of Digital Almaty 2025 will bring together participants from all backgrounds—ranging from school students and university scholars to top digital industry leaders, startup founders, and investors—creating a unique ecosystem for idea exchange and innovation. This was highlighted by Daniya Akhmetova, Managing Director of Astana Hub, during a press conference at the Central Communications Service.
Today, the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan hosted a press conference on the upcoming Digital Almaty 2025. As noted by Gizzat Baitursynov, Chairman of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development, only a week remains until the start of the VII International Digital Almaty 2025 Forum—the largest digital event of the year.
During a meeting of the Government chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, issues related to expanding exports of IT services and products were discussed. Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev delivered the main report, with additional comments provided by representatives of IT companies: Netcracker Technology’s Technical Director Pavel Gorodov, Higgsfield AI CEO Yerzat Dulat, and Grand Mobile CEO Roman Lineytsev.
The international technology park Astana Hub actively supports the development of fintech companies and innovative solutions in the country. CEO Magzhan Madiyev shared with Euronews how startups gain unique opportunities through acceleration programs, tax incentives, and access to international markets.
The revenue of residents at the Astana Hub tech park is expected to reach $1 billion by the end of 2024. A third of this amount is expected to come from export revenues. At the same time, there is a goal to increase the volume of IT export revenue to $1 billion.
The results of the AlchemistX and Silicon Valley Residency Programs have been announced, with 22 startups from Central Eurasia demonstrating significant achievements in Silicon Valley. The projected revenue for program participants in 2025 is expected to reach $17 million, confirming their immense potential for further growth on the global stage.
The results of the third cohort of the Hero Training program, implemented in partnership with Draper University, were announced at Astana Hub. Over the course of five weeks, startups enhanced their products, established partnerships with companies from the UAE, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries, and secured deals in the U.S. market.
On December 6, 2024, the official opening of SKO Hub, the eighteenth regional IT hub of Kazakhstan, took place in Petropavlovsk. Created with the support of Astana Hub, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, and the Akimat of the North Kazakhstan Region, SKO Hub is set to become a crucial part of the region’s technological ecosystem.
Kazakhstan is largest landlocked country in the world and the largest economy in Central Asia, accounting for over 61% of the region’s GDP and boasting the highest GDP per capita. Rich with nomadic history and a fusion of traditional and modern architecture, Kazakhstan stands as a cornerstone of economic development and political stability in the region, offering a friendly, safe environment that fosters innovation and provides an ideal foundation for IT companies to grow and thrive.
The head of the Committee of Women Entrepreneurs of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aizhan Chynybayeva, stated that Kazakhstan serves as an example in the digital world. She shared this sentiment during the seventh plenary session of the CICA Business Council, BaigeNews.kz reports.
