Finalists of the Digital Startup Awards Semifinal Announced

Kazakhstani startups Multicode and CYBERPACK.AI have become the winners of the semifinal round of Best Startup Project, part of the Digital Startup Awards program by IT Park Uzbekistan. These two teams will represent Kazakhstan in the final, which will take place in Tashkent and features a prize fund of $90,000.

A Tajik Entrepreneur Created an AI Startup for Banks. It Has Already Been Valued at $40 Million

The startup zypl.ai was founded in 2021 by Tajik entrepreneur Azizjon Azimi. The company develops technologies that help banks and microfinance organizations reduce credit risks. The startup’s model can determine who is likely to repay a loan and who should not be issued one. Today, zypl.ai operates in 20 countries, including Kazakhstan, and works with 60 financial institutions. The latest confirmed valuation of the company is $40 million.

Yersultan Yermanov launched his first startup while still a student. Together with his classmates, he created two travel portals at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Singapore. This was followed by the large marketplace Kupi.kz, which had to be shut down at the peak of its popularity, and a search for a high-demand solution in the education sector. Eventually, after several unsuccessful attempts, Yersultan and his team identified a real market pain point—this is how the TrustExam.ai project emerged. Initially, it helped combat cheating during exams. Today, it is a full-fledged anti-cheating system designed to ensure fairness and objectivity during any form of knowledge assessment, both online and offline.

Guys from Tashkent Built AI Cameras for Retail Stores and Raised $1.8 Million

Shakhzod Umirzakov and Jamshid Khakimjonov from Tashkent launched the startup TASS Vision in 2021. The team developed AI-powered cameras for retail stores that use computer vision to analyze foot traffic, determine customers’ age and gender, and help store owners increase revenue. Today, TASS Vision’s solutions are installed in more than 2,000 stores across 10 countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Peru, and Turkey. To date, the startup has raised $1.8 million in investment.
