Startup zypl.ai Raises Approximately USD 6.3 Million in Funding

Tajikistani AI startup zypl.ai, which specializes in developing AI models for credit scoring in financial institutions, has raised approximately USD 6.3 million in a pre-Series A round at a valuation of USD 40 million. This was reported to Digital Business by Adil Nurgozhin, Managing Partner at Big Sky Capital. Nurgozhin, together with several other business angels, invested just over USD 500,000 in zypl.ai during its pre-seed round in 2022, when the startup was valued at USD 6 million. His exit took place at a valuation of USD 30 million, generating a 5x return.

For the First Time, a U.S. Venture Fund Invests in a Kazakhstani Fintech Startup

Kazakhstani startup Finflow has announced the closing of a USD 500,000 pre-seed investment round. The lead investor is Orbit Startups (USA), a venture fund that is part of the global accelerator SOSV, which manages more than USD 1.5 billion in assets. The U.S. fund’s portfolio includes globally recognized companies such as Perfect Corp, Leapmotor, BitMEX, and Clearbot, among others. The Finflow round was also supported by local and international investors, including Axiom Capital, Bask International Group, as well as several Kazakhstani business angels.

Exports of Kazakhstani AI Solutions Could Reach USD 5 Billion by 2029

This autumn, Astana will host the opening of Central Asia’s largest artificial intelligence development center — ALEM.AI. The international-scale project will operate on the basis of Astana Hub. ALEM.AI will not only train IT specialists and support startup development, but will also play a role in shaping national public policy in the field of artificial intelligence. The center is expected to educate up to 10,000 people annually. Its overarching goal is to create homegrown AI solutions and turn them into global trends. According to forecasts by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, exports of domestic AI solutions could reach USD 5 billion by 2029.
