Kazakhstan is rapidly transforming into one of the world’s major technology hubs.
Kazakhstani startup ARLAN BIOTECH, a resident of Astana Hub, took second place and received €30,000 at the prestigious international Supernova Challenge competition. The event was held as part of GITEX Europe 2025, one of Europe’s largest technology exhibitions. The event brought together more than 40,000 participants from over 100 countries and became a key platform for showcasing advanced solutions in innovation, venture investment, and technological entrepreneurship.
Astana Hub has an active digital module called “Technological Tasks” — a tool designed to facilitate collaboration between customers and contractors in the fields of ICT, as well as research and development (R&D).
Astana Hub, together with IT Park Uzbekistan, announces the launch of applications for the fourth batch of Hero Training – an international acceleration program held in partnership with Draper University. The program is aimed at tech startups that are ready to scale and enter global markets.
Dias Zhumagaliyev is 32 years old and has been used to moving since childhood. At the age of 13, he moved from Taraz to Astana with his family. A year later, his parents sent him to study in Canada. After graduation, he returned home, but later left again—this time for Malaysia. Two years later, he was back in Kazakhstan, where he managed to open a hostel, a print shop, and a language school. Three years later, however, he decided to relocate once again, choosing Spain. There, Dias discovered IT and became a QA tester at a startup. In 2020, he decided to return home. Today, he runs his own offline school focused on artificial intelligence.
This October, the Creative Technologies Center TUMO will open at the International Artificial Intelligence Center alem.ai. The center is designed for schoolchildren aged 12 to 18 and will operate as a supplementary educational facility, allowing students to attend classes either before or after school hours. The announcement was made by Valeria Tyo, Managing Director of the Autonomous Cluster Fund "Park of Innovative Technologies," during a press conference at the Central Communications Service.
As early as this autumn, in October, Kazakhstan will open the first Creative Technologies Center TUMO in Central Asia—a free educational space for school students. The learning program will cover 11 areas, including artificial intelligence skills. Classes will be offered on a flexible schedule, allowing students to combine their studies with regular school. The initiative also plans to host online masterclasses featuring specialists from various industries. In the future, the project is set to scale across Kazakhstan, including remote regions, where mobile TUMO Boxes will be deployed to enable distance learning.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, together with Astana Hub, is implementing large-scale educational projects in artificial intelligence that are open to all segments of the population, Inbusiness.kz reports, citing the Ministry.
Kazakhstani startup Cybernet AI, a resident of Astana Hub, has been accepted into the international Microsoft for Startups program. As part of the initiative, the company received grant support totaling more than USD 350,000, along with access to Microsoft’s technological resources.
The process of issuing and reissuing geological and mining permits in Kazakhstan has been fully digitized, significantly improving efficiency, transparency, and convenience for subsoil users. This was announced by Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
