Kazakhstani Experts and Global IT CEOs to Share AI Implementation Insights at Digital Almaty 2025

The year 2024 marked significant advancements in artificial intelligence. A Committee on AI was established, the AI Development Concept for 2024–2029 was approved, and a draft AI Law is currently in development. Additionally, Kazakhstan has created its own language model, KazLLM, which will serve as the foundation for a range of technological solutions. During a press conference at the Central Communications Service, Gizzat Baitursynov, Chairman of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development at the MDDIAI, emphasized that applying this language model will drive the growth of the domestic IT services market.

Astana Hub Resident CodiPlay Secures $9M to Expand in the MENA Region

Kazakhstani edtech startup CodiPlay has successfully raised $9 million in a Series A funding round at a $100 million valuation. The round attracted a group of investors from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, including the Senior Executive Vice President for Strategy at Qatar National Bank, renowned business angel Christian Eichner, and the private equity fund Global Capital. This investment will enable CodiPlay to strengthen its presence in the MENA region, specifically in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar—countries with strong economies and low inflation rates.
