A Kazakhstani With No IT Experience Lands a Job at a Spanish Startup: The Story of a Man From Taraz
Dias Zhumagaliyev is 32 years old and has been used to moving since childhood. At the age of 13, he moved from Taraz to Astana with his family. A year later, his parents sent him to study in Canada. After graduation, he returned home, but later left again—this time for Malaysia. Two years later, he was back in Kazakhstan, where he managed to open a hostel, a print shop, and a language school. Three years later, however, he decided to relocate once again, choosing Spain. There, Dias discovered IT and became a QA tester at a startup. In 2020, he decided to return home. Today, he runs his own offline school focused on artificial intelligence.
