The Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan, Aleška Simkić, visited the International Artificial Intelligence Center alem.ai.
The final of the international Alem Plus Hackathon 2026 took place at the International Artificial Intelligence Center alem.ai, one of the largest AI hackathons in Central Asia, bringing together developers, startup founders, and young entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. The event was organized by the international innovation cluster Astana Hub.
Governor of Tokyo Yuriko Koike, as part of her visit to Kazakhstan, visited the International Artificial Intelligence Center alem.ai and familiarized herself with the country’s digital ecosystem, AI initiatives, and technological projects of Astana Hub participants.
In Astana, at the International Artificial Intelligence Center “Alem.ai”, a meeting of the Entrepreneurial Wing of the AMANAT Party was held with representatives of the IT community and business sector. The event brought together deputies of the Mazhilis, leadership of relevant government bodies, heads of leading technology companies, representatives of the banking sector, telecommunications operators, and IT entrepreneurs. In total, around 440 people participated. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev, while regions were connected via video conferencing. Participants discussed prospects for joint work on the development of digitalization, AI, and the formation of a modern digital economy of Kazakhstan.
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Kenya William Ruto visited the International Artificial Intelligence Center alem.ai, where they were introduced to the center’s potential as a key technological hub of the country.
Astana Hub has announced the launch of applications from private IT schools and IT companies for participation in the Tech Orda 2026 program, a government initiative aimed at developing human capital and training in-demand IT specialists.
In the international Center for Artificial Intelligence alem.ai, Astana Hub has launched the fourth cohort of its flagship AI startup acceleration program, AI’preneurs. Over the previous three cohorts, the program has become one of the key entry points into AI entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan, receiving 960 applications, graduating 79 participants, forming 35 startup teams, and generating a total of $590,000 in sales and pre-sales.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were presented with the center’s potential as a key national technology hub.
UN Deputy Secretary-General and UNFPA Executive Director Ms. Diene Keita visited the international artificial intelligence center alem.ai and the international innovation cluster Astana Hub. The delegation was welcomed by Astana Hub CEO Magzhan Madiyev.
