Digital solutions developed in Kazakhstan have caught the attention of the UK government, particularly those used in national testing systems and public service delivery.
On June 17, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan co-hosted the first-ever INMerge Almaty forum, laying the foundation for a new strategy of bilateral cooperation. The central highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Al-Farabi Innovation Hub (Kazakhstan) and SABAH.HUB (Azerbaijan).
Kazakhstan has officially joined the ranks of countries embracing digital nomad culture. In a special report, The Astana Times highlights two visa programs designed to attract remote professionals from around the world: the Neo Nomad Visa, aimed at freelancers and creative professionals seeking freedom and lifestyle flexibility, and the Digital Nomad Visa, tailored for high-level IT specialists working remotely.
On June 17, 2025, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced Kazakhstan’s interest in launching joint projects in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and the establishment of research centers and technology parks within the Central Asia–China cooperation framework.
At Tomorrow School, the first peer-to-peer AI school in Kazakhstan, students learn programming, build communities, launch study clubs, share knowledge — and transform their lives. Since its launch in October 2024, the school has held six selection pools, known as “piscines,” with nearly 1,000 participants. Currently, 216 students are enrolled in the core program.
QazTWIN, a deeptech startup from Kazakhstan developed by KazScanService, has been selected as one of the Top 15 projects at the international Constructor Start accelerator and received the Audience Choice Award during the final Demo Day held at the Constructor University campus in Bremen, Germany.
Tumar Innovation Hub, in partnership with DIFC and supported by Astana Hub and IT Park Uzbekistan, is opening new opportunities for founders from Central Asia. This fall, the UAE will host the first-ever acceleration program tailored for startups from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, designed to help them localize, scale, and tap into the growing opportunities of the MENA region.
The final of the international educational project Beginit: Leadership for Social Justice took place in Almaty, bringing together high school students from across Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The initiative, aimed at fostering social leadership among regional youth, is implemented by global mobility platform inDrive in partnership with Astana Hub and the iQanat Education Foundation. This year’s winners included six students from four regions of Kazakhstan and two students from Kyrgyzstan.
Astana Hub is actively developing educational programs that help young people and women acquire practical tech skills. The tech park is seeing steady growth in the number of women-led tech startups: while there were 179 such companies in 2023, that number has now surpassed 300. This was announced by Astana Hub’s Managing Director, Valeriya Tyo, during a press conference at the Central Communications Service.
A delegation from the Senate Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development, and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by Chairman Suindik Aldashev, visited the international tech park Astana Hub.
